Tasting by Consensus: WSET Level 3 Reference Notes
I created a page that collects my tasting notes for WSET Level 3 students. Each note follows the exam format, with one line for each point of the Systematic Approach to Tasting. I chose the wines to cover the contrasts the exam relies on, such as high and low acidity, dry and sweet, youthful and developing, and simple and outstanding.
None of these notes come from a single tasting. I pour the same wines across several classes and compare what each group finds, so every note reflects the collective judgement of many students as well as my own. That is the calibration the exam asks of you. Taste a wine, write your note, then see where it differs from the consensus. If you have not yet read my post on preparing for the tasting exam, start there: How to Practise for the WSET Level 3 Tasting Exam. The notes are here: WSET Level 3 Tasting Notes. I will add new ones regularly.
